Preparing for Worship

Matthew 10:37-39 (NKJV)

"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."

Prayer

Lord God Almighty, You alone are worthy of our full love and devotion. No one else but You deserve all of us. You are our Creator, Redeemer, Master and Lover. Our lives are blessed because of Your mercy and grace. Praise be to You, O Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Be exalted in our lives both now and forevermore, Amen.

John 15:1-12 (NKJV)

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Worship Through Prayer

1. Lord, the best thing that I can ever do in this life is to surrender fully to You. However, my heart is still unable to do so because I am holding on to people and things that are more precious to me than You. Forgive me, Lord, forgive me. I am a fool to hold on to Your gifts so tightly while refusing to give You my all. Help me.

2. Father, thank You for all the good gifts that You have blessed my life with each day. Help me not to devote myself to them or love anyone or anything else more than You. Expose all the idols in my heart. Help me to repent and to reset them where they should be in my life. They are Your good gifts for me to enjoy but never to worship nor give to them what rightfully belongs to You.

3. Lord, help me not to delay anymore. Let me do it today. I surrender my life and all that I have to You. Everything is Yours. Use all of me and all that You have given me as You so please. Give me faith to fully trust in Your goodness especially when I feel You are taking away what I love. I know I will struggle a lot. Please help me not to turn back and run away clutching anyone or anything I love more than You. Be my first and only love. Empower me with Your Holy Spirit. I can't do this on my own. Help me, please. In Jesus' Name, I pray Amen.
