Have someone read aloud:
1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV)
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Prayer
O Lord God Almighty, You are our first love. You are the preeminent One. The throne of our hearts belongs to You alone. You are the center of our being. Apart from You, we are nothing. We exalt You with our highest praise. Glory be to You, O exalted One, both now and forevermore. Amen.

Worship Through Prayer
Lord, truly my heart is prone to wander and prone to leave you. It keeps following this world. Forgive me for being allured even enamored, constantly seeking worldly gifts and pleasures. It's hard to admit that I love the world more than I love You. I confess my sin of loving this world.
Lord, I desire You. I desire to love You above all. But I know I can't do it on my own. I need Your help to do so. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit that I may have a heart like Jesus. Empower me with Your love to be faithful and wholly devoted to You.
Lord, I offer to You the year 2023. Let not my will, but Yours be done. Let me love and serve You with my life. Let me love and serve others with the love of Christ. Let me live this redeemed life worthy of You, my God, my Savior. Prepare me for another year. May I know You better and love You deeper this year. Bless me that it may be so in the blessed power of Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
