Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Psalm 73:25-28 (NKJV)

Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all Your works.

Prayer

Praise be to You, O Lord, our God. You are our strength and portion forevermore. Life has filled our hearts with troubles. Death comes near to our homes. Yet, we look to You, our only Hope. The blessed assurance of life with You on earth and eternal life when we die gives us the confidence to face this inevitable event with You. Glory be to You until we see You face-to-face. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

R-52 THE BEATITUDES 八福

Matthew 5:1-12 (NKJV)

And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,

For they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

For they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

For they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

For they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

For they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

For they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Song of Response

Worship Through Prayer

  1. Lord, help me to be ready to face death any time so that I may live confidently in the present. Thank You for being with me, O Immanuel. Remove the fear of death in my heart. Replace it with peace and assurance of Your grace and mercy. I commit myself and my loved ones to You.

  2. Lord, I want to rededicate my life to live for You each day. This one life I have belongs to You. May I be faithful to live it for Your glory. Forgive me for wasting my life on self-willed pursuits. Help me keep the end in mind and invest this life for eternity.

  3. Father, forgive me for sinning over and over again. Every time I sin, I willfully turn against You in rebellion. I confess and repent of my sins. Thank You for in Christ Jesus I have received your inexhaustible grace and mercy. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who continues to help me become holy and pure for Your glory.
