Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Romans 1:16-17 (NKJV)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Prayer

Almighty Father, we come with hearts filled with joy and thanksgiving for the privileged life we have on earth as Your children. We are never alone in our homebound journey towards You unto eternity. Thank You that we can learn to live by faith in this broken world and see Your mighty power carrying us through. Be honored, be praised, be magnified in our lives for You alone are worthy, O God. We offer this prayer of thanks to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

R-5 GOD’S GOODNESS 上帝的良善

Psalm 34:3-10, 17-19, 22 (NKJV)

Oh, magnify the LORD with me,

And let us exalt His name together.

I sought the LORD, and He heard me,

And delivered me from all my fears.

They looked to Him and were radiant,

And their faces were not ashamed.

This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him,

And saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,

And delivers them.

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;

Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!

There is no want to those who fear Him.

The young lions lack and suffer hunger;

But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,

And delivers them out of all their troubles.

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,

And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous,

But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

The LORD redeems the soul of His servants,

And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Song of Response

Worship Through Prayer

  1. Lord, when times of uncertainty and trouble come, grant that I would honor You by responding with an unwavering faith that knows You are sovereign and perfectly good. May Your Word be kept in my heart each day so that when the time of need comes, I would be ready to listen to the prompting of Your Holy Spirit guiding me with Your Word.

  2. Lord, You have already told me in advance that I will face troubles in this life. Let me not deny this truth. Instead, let me be filled with Your peace, knowing that You have already overcome everything. Hence, You will see me through every trial victoriously. Help me to prepare for difficult times so that I may still glorify You in my sufferings.

  3. Lord, I will hide in You when the storms of life come. You are my Refuge, my Defender and my Protector. Trials will reveal many of my weaknesses and impurities. Thank You because I know that You will be my Source of strength and righteousness. Uphold me continually through the trials until I come safely to You in Christ. Amen.
