Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Romans 1:20-25 (NKJV)

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Prayer

Almighty Triune God, Creator of all, You are blessed forever. You alone are worthy of all worship for You have created all things. Creation displays Your glory. You are awesome in power and marvelous in every way. None of Your created beings can fully deny the truth that You are the One who brought all things to existence. We believe and we praise You for we are Yours from beginning till the end of this life and unto eternity. Praise and glory be to Your Name, Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

R-6 GOD’S GRACIOUS LOVE 上帝恩愛

Psalm 103:1-13, 17 (NKJV)

Bless the LORD, O my soul;

And all that is within me, bless His holy name!

Bless the LORD, O my soul,

And forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities,

Who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from destruction,

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

Who satisfies your mouth with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The LORD executes righteousness

And justice for all who are oppressed.

He made known His ways to Moses,

His acts to the children of Israel.

The LORD is merciful and gracious,

Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.

He will not always strive with us,

Nor will He keep His anger forever.

He has not dealt with us according to our sins,

Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

As a father pities his children,

So the LORD pities those who fear Him.

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting

On those who fear Him,

And His righteousness to children’s children.

Worship Through Prayer

  1. Lord, You are the Giver of the breath of life to every human being. Hence, You alone have the right to take away any human life for it belongs to You. Help me to value each human life. Let me care about the life and eternal salvation of people especially those whom You have placed near me.

  2. Lord, You are trustworthy. Your words are truthful. You keep Your Word whether promises to bless or warnings to judge. May I not ignore Your Word and take it for granted. Help me keep Your Word in my heart and live by it for Your glory. Also, let the words of my mouth be truthful and trustworthy like Yours. Keep me from speaking evil and lies.

  3. Lord, You are holy. Likewise, You call me to be holy and set apart in righteousness. Help me to live a godly life fully aware that You are always present and knowledgeable of everything. Nothing is hidden from You. May I have a holy fear of Your abiding presence especially when the temptation to sin against You come my way. Help me choose to honor You and do what is right in Your sight always. Help me to live uprightly in the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
