Have someone read aloud:
Psalm 18:1-2 (NKJV)
"I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."
Prayer
Almighty God, we thank You. Our lives on earth are blessed because of Your mercy and lovingkindness. You are good. We trust in You, our unshakeable rock and fortress. You alone are the true lover of our souls. Be enthroned in our hearts forevermore. We love you. In Christ Jesus. Amen.
Worship through Songs
TEXT: Daniel C. Roberts | MUSIC: George W. Warren
[Verse 1]
God of our fathers, whose almighty hand
Leads forth in beauty all the starry band
Of shining worlds in splendor through the skies
Our grateful songs before Thy throne arise
[Verse 2]
Thy love divine hath led us in the past
In this free land by Thee our lot is cast
Be Thou our Ruler, Guardian, Guide, and Stay
Thy Word our law, Thy paths our chosen way
[Verse 3]
From war’s alarms, from deadly pestilence
Be Thy strong arm our ever sure defense
Thy true religion in our hearts increase
Thy bounteous goodness nourish us in peace
[Verse 4]
Refresh Thy people on their toilsome way
Lead us from night to never ending day
Fill all our lives with love and grace divine
And glory, laud and praise be ever Thine
TEXT & MUSIC for "Majesty": Jack W. Hayford
"He is Lord," Based on Philippians 2:10-11
Majesty, worship His majesty
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise
Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from His throne unto His own
His anthem raise
So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King
Majesty, worship His majesty
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings
Majesty, worship His majesty
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise
Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from His throne unto His own
His anthem raise
So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King
Majesty, worship His majesty
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings
[Transition to ‘He is Lord’]
He is Lord, He is Lord
He is risen from the dead and He is Lord
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord
He is Lord, He is Lord
He is risen from the dead and He is Lord
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord
He is Lord, He is Lord
He is risen from the dead and He is Lord
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord
That Jesus Christ is Lord

TEXT: Daniel W. Whittle | MUSIC: James McGranahan
[Verse 1]
I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own
But “I know Whom I have believed
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.”
[Verse 2]
I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart
Nor how believing in His Word
Wro’t peace within my heart
But “I know Whom I have believed
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.”
[Verse 3]
I know not how the Spirit moves
Convincing men of sin
Revealing Jesus thro’ the Word
Creating faith in Him
But “I know Whom I have believed
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.”
[Verse 4]
I know not when my Lord may come
At night or noonday fair
Nor if I’ll walk the *vale with Him
Or “meet Him in the air”
But “I know Whom I have believed
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.”
Scripture Reading
Read aloud (together if applicable).
R-5 GOD’S GOODNESS (上帝的良善)
Psalm 34:1-10, 17-19, 22 (NKJV)
I will bless the LORD at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
I sought the LORD, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
Sermon
Song of Response
TEXT: Frank E. Graeff | MUSIC: J. Lincoln Hall
[Verse 1]
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth and song
As the burdens press and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?
O yes, He cares; I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary
I know my Savior cares
[Verse 2]
Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a nameless dread and fear
As the daylight fades into deep night shades
Does He care enough to be near?
O yes, He cares; I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary
I know my Savior cares
[Verse 3]
Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong
When for my deep grief I find no relief
Though my tears flow all the night long?
O yes, He cares; I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary
I know my Savior cares
[Verse 4]
Does Jesus care when I’ve said goodbye
To the dearest on earth to me
And my sad heartaches till it nearly breaks
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?
O yes, He cares; I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary
I know my Savior cares
Communion
Video for communion comes right after the sermon (see above video at 39:26 min. mark).
Worship through Prayer
You are always good. That will never change. No matter what evil life may bring, help me never doubt the truth of Your perfect goodness.
Thank You, Lord, for all Your goodness in my life. Thank You that even the painful trials have all worked out for my good. I am alive and well today because of Your loving grace. Thank You so much.
The uncertainties of life continue to bring me fear and anxiety. But I will rest in Your goodness and find my peace in You. You hold my future in Your good hands. That is enough for me. I will not fear for You are always with me. Help me, O Lord.
