Call to Worship
Have someone read aloud:
1 John 2:16-17 (NKJV)
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Prayer
O Lord, Maker of all, we worship and adore You. You alone are the source of life and the sustainer of all things both in heaven and on earth. All that we are and all that we have belongs to You. We humble ourselves to give thanks for You alone deserve all glory and honor both now and forevermore. Amen.
Worship through Songs
TEXT: Anonymous German hymn, Münster Gesangbuch, 1677
MUSIC: Schlesische Volkslieder
[Verse 1]
Fairest Lord Jesus
Ruler of all nature
O Thou of God and man the Son
Thee will I cherish
Thee will I honor
Thou my soul’s glory, joy, and crown
[Verse 2]
Fair are the meadows
Fairer still the woodlands
Robed in the blooming garb of spring
Jesus is fairer
Jesus is purer
Who makes the woeful heart to sing
[Verse 3]
Fair is the sunshine
Fairer still the moonlight
And all the twinkling starry host
Jesus shines brighter
Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels heav’n can boast
TEXT & MUSIC: Luther B. Bridgers
[Verse 1]
There's within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low
“Fear not, I am with thee;
peace, be still”
In all of life's ebb and flow
[Refrain]
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest name I know
Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go
[Verse 2]
All my life was wrecked
by sin and strife
Discord filled my heart with pain
Jesus swept across
the broken strings
Stirred the slumb’ring chords again
[Refrain]
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest name I know
Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go
[Verse 3]
Feasting on the riches of His grace
Resting 'neath His shelt'ring wing
Always looking on His smiling face
That is why I shout and sing
[Refrain]
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest name I know
Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go
[Verse 4]
Tho’ sometimes He leads
thro’ waters deep
Trials fall across the way
Tho’ sometimes the path
seems rough and steep
See His footprints all the way
[Refrain]
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest name I know
Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go
[Verse 5]
Soon He's coming back
to welcome me
Far beyond the starry sky
I shall wing my flight
to worlds unknown
I shall reign with Him on high
[Refrain]
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest name I know
Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go
[Refrain]
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest name I know
Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go

Scripture Reading
Read aloud (together if applicable).
R-12 GOD’S CREATION 上帝的創造
Genesis 1:1-5; Psalm 104:24; Isaiah 40:18, 22; Psalm 19:1-3; 103:22 (NKJV)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
O LORD, how manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions—
To whom then will you liken God?
Or what likeness will you compare to Him?
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,...
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Bless the LORD, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
Sermon
Song of Response
TEXT: Elvina M. Hall | MUSIC: John T. Grape
[Verse 1]
I hear the Savior say:
“Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness, watch and pray
Find in Me thine all in all.”
[Chorus]
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
[Verse 2]
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow’r, and Thine alone
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone
[Chorus]
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
[Verse 3]
For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb
[Chorus]
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
[Verse 4]
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
My lips shall still repeat
[Chorus]
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
Worship through Prayer
Lord, forgive me for the pride in my heart. Many times I have thought highly of myself and have boasted in my accomplishments. I am nothing without You. I acknowledge that all that I have comes from You. I humble myself and give back to You all praises and glory.
Lord, help me seek to accumulate eternal riches in this life as I walk with You in obedience by faith. Let my earthly security be found in You alone. You know what I need and desire. Thank You for being the loving and gracious Provider. Let me be satisfied in You.
Lord, let not my intelligence and abilities hinder me from knowing You and Your power. Help me uphold the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, compared to gaining worldly wisdom. I offer my intelligence and abilities to You. Freely use them for Your purpose. In Christ, Amen.
