Reflect

What do you miss the most during these past months of being confined at home because of the pandemic? Name three persons that you miss the most because you haven’t seen them for a while. Do you miss God at all? Why or why not?

Read and Discuss

Scripture

Genesis 5:21-24

Discussion Questions

  1. Who is Enoch? What was he known for? What does it mean to “walk with God”? How do you know that you are “walking with God?”

  2. To walk with God is to live in deep communion with Him. When you walk with someone on a regular basis, what does it imply about your relationship with that person? When did Enoch start walking with God? How long did he walk with God? If Enoch walked that long with God, how would you imagine and describe his connection and attachment with Him?

  3. What does Hebrews 11:5 say about Enoch’s relationship with God? How would you describe your personal walk with God? How can you tell if you are walking in the same direction as God?  Why would you say that like Enoch, you are in deep communion with God?

  4. To walk with God is to live in complete dependence on Him. What revelation did God give to Enoch in Jude verses 14-15? What does it say about his dependence on God? In what areas of your life do you need complete dependence on God?

  5. Is it possible to live a godly life on your own? Could you do what pleases God without His help? Could you lead someone to Christ without the working of the Holy Spirit? How do you express your reliance on Him?

Reflect

In Walk: How is your walk with God? Do you think that having Him in your life is enough? Would you desire to have a closer walk with Him?

In Prayer:

Just a closer walk, with Thee.

Grant it Jesus, is my plea.

Daily walking close to Thee.

Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

I am weak, but Thou art strong.

Jesus keep me, from all wrong.

I’ll be satisfied, as long as I walk.

Let me walk, close to Thee.

Through this world of toil and snares;

If I falter, Lord who cares?

Who with me, my burden shares?

None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

When my feeble life is o’er;

Time for me, will be no more

Guide me gently, safely o’er.

To Thy kingdom’s shore, to Thy shore.

Just a closer walk, with Thee.

Grant it, Jesus, is my plea

Daily walking, close to Thee.

Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

My prayer, Father, is to walk closer with You every single day of my life. May you grant me grace and mercy for it to be so. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
