Preparing for Worship

Isaiah 40:28-31 (NKJV)

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Prayer

Our Creator God, You alone are the great I AM. You alone are eternally all-powerful, all-knowing and ever present. We are blessed to be Yours once again through the redemption and reconciliation we have in the Lord Jesus, our precious Savior. We are most blessed with Your favor and kindness among all created beings. Fill our hearts with praise and thanksgiving. May the outflow of our heart of worship be pleasing unto You. We love You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

John 10:7-16; 27-29 (NKJV)

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Worship Through Prayer

1. Who can compare to You, Almighty God? Your power is absolute and knows no bound. Mighty are You and glorious are Your ways. Holy, perfect and good–that's who You are. I praise You with my whole heart for You alone are worthy of all adoration and exaltation. Be lifted on high and be proclaimed in and through my life.

2. Father, forgive me for my sinful pride. There are many times that I find myself being self-sufficient and believing that I'm capable of living this life based on my knowledge and strength. When I feel that it all depends on me, I sin against You. I confess that apart from You I can do nothing. May I never even for a moment forget to acknowledge and give You thanks.

3. O Lord, I praise You for You alone are my true source of help. I need You always. Thank You for all the trials that You have allowed to come into my life for they highlight Your loving presence and mighty deliverance. There's no storm in this life that can destroy me for I am safe and secure in You for life and unto eternity. Glory be to You, my God and my Savior!
