Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Revelation 21:3-4 (NKJV)

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Prayer

Almighty God, You have conquered Death. Salvation and eternal life of everyone who believes have been secured for us through the victorious work of the Lord Jesus. Death has no more power to hold us forever. We have been set free. Praise be to You, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, three in one. Victory in Christ is ours forever. Everlasting glory be to You, God Almighty. Amen. Amen. Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

R-67 SAINT’S DEATH 聖徒的死

John 14:1-3; Revelations 14:13; John 11:25-26a; 1 Corinthians 15:53-57 (NKJV)

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”

“Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

“O Death, where is your sting?

O Hades, where is your victory?”

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Song of Response

Worship Through Prayer

  1. Lord, I believe in You. Help me overcome any unbelief and doubts in my heart. May I learn to trust in Your ways especially in Your timing. Give me faith to wait upon You to make all things good for me. It's hard to trust when things are bad and becoming worse. Help me to believe in who You are and hold on to Your Word as I go through dark and dangerous phases in my life journey. Carry me through safely, O mighty Savior. Thank You.

  2. Heavenly Father, I fear death. I'm afraid of dying myself but I'm even more afraid of my loved ones dying. How can I bear such loss and grief? O Lord, let me find comfort in the truth that there is eternal life in Christ. Physical death may cause a painful and cruel separation, yet, there is a blessed hope in Christ for me and all of Your children. Comfort me and see me through as I await for Your blessed day when all things are made new and death is no more.

  3. Only the Lord Jesus can save mankind from eternal death. Lord Jesus, thank You for Your finished work on the cross that secured my eternal life to be in the presence of God forever. It is also an eternal life of perfect good for all of Your people. Help me to be faithful in sharing the good news of the Gospel, especially to my loved ones. I pray for Your grace and mercy upon them that they too may receive the blessed gift of eternal life. Save my loved ones, O Lord, save them. Have mercy on them, I pray, have mercy. Amen.
