Preparing for Worship

Psalm 1:1-2, 6 (NKJV)

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Prayer

Lord God Almighty, Maker of the heaven and earth, we come before Your presence to worship and adore You. Worthy are You to be exalted, for You alone are God. Apart from You, there is no other God. We all live and breathe and exist because of You. Sanctify us that we may serve You faithfully all the days of our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Matthew 5:1-12 (NKJV)

And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,

For they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,

For they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

For they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,

For they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,

For they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

For they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Worship Through Prayer

1. Father, I am Your child. Let me live out this identity in this world. Let Your Spirit and Your Word be my life guide. Let me not conform to this world and all of its ways. Let me uphold You and live a godly life so that people may see You through my life and give praise to You.

2. Lord, let my heart be filled with faithful love for You. Let there be found no idol nor any form of it in my heart. Let me not be self-centered but God-centered because only then will I be able to live a godly and righteous life for Your glory. 

3. Let my life be a reflection of Your image. Let me live a life that is pleasing to You. I want to give You thanks by living a life in accordance to Your Word. No matter how my life unfolds, I pray that I would always live it for Your glory. Please help me to do so in the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit.
