Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

John 13:34-35 (NKJV)

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come to You today with hearts filled with thanksgiving ready to worship. How awesome is Your love. How constant is Your gracious work of love in our lives. You alone can give us a blessed life in this broken world. Praise be to You. No earthly pain or suffering can diminish the power of Your love in us, Your children. Thank You so much. Be magnified in our praises in Christ Jesus, Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

R-48 LOVE ONE ANOTHER 彼此相愛

John 13:34-35; Ephesians 4:31-5:2; 1 John 3:14-18; 4:7 (NKJV)

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

Worship through Prayer

  1. Remind me Lord that true love for others does not rejoice in sin and falsehood, but rejoices in the truth. The consequence of sin can be devastating and even fatal. May I not be deceived to think that I'm loving others by being tolerant and silent with their state of sinfulness.

  2. Lord, You've been loving me unconditionally. Knowing what it's like to be loved by You, help me to extend Your kind of love to others as well. May I be gracious and generous in loving others explicitly in Your Name. May people praise and thank You when I do so.

  3. Lord to love others as You love me is my offering of praise to You. When others fail to appreciate my acts of love, let me not be disheartened or feel bad. Help me to consider it a joy to serve You by loving those whom You love. Remind me to pray for any ungrateful person that I encounter so that their hearts may be filled with joy and thanksgiving, too.
