Preparing for Worship

1 Peter 3:15-16 (NKJV)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

Prayer

Almighty God, praise and honor be to Your Name. As living witnesses of You grace and mercy, we lift our voices in worship and adoration of You. No one compares to You in holiness, righteousness, power and grace. You alone are perfect forevermore. Thank You for Your mercy in Christ that enabled us to come before Your holy presence. Be glorified in and through Your people. Let Your glory shine upon us. Amen.

"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Worship Through Prayer

1. Father, thank You because my life is in Your hands. Each day unfolds with the gift of life filled with opportunities to love and serve You. May I be attentive to do the good works You have prepared for me in Christ as Your witness. Let me care to share Your love to the people that I meet each day. May more people praise You as I do so in Your Name.

2. Lord, give me the courage to talk about You and Your goodness. May it lead to the gospel of salvation in the Lord Jesus. People need you and many are dying without you. Let me care to share and not keep the truth to myself. You know me and my weaknesses. Help me to do so in the best way that fits who I am in You. Guide me and let me do it Your way in me. 

3. Lord, thank You that You are the Savior, not me. Help me be faithful in sharing and leave the saving work to You. Have mercy upon my family, relatives and friends. Let me not remain silent as a witness but help me to speak truthfully with grace. Thank You for allowing me to see people come to You. Help me to witness more of Your saving power and continue to declare Your goodness.
