Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Psalm 145:1-2 (NKJV)

I will extol You, my God, O King;

And I will bless Your name forever and ever.

Every day I will bless You,

And I will praise Your name forever and ever.

Prayer

Holy, holy, holy. We believe and declare that You alone are God. There is none like You. All other so-called gods are worthless idols despicable before you. Only fools bow down to idols. We will not do so for You alone are God worthy of all worship and utmost exaltation. Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

R-55 THE TEN COMMANDMENTS 十條誡

Exodus 20:1-4a, 7-8, 12-17; Mark 12:28-31 (NKJV)

And God spoke all these words, saying:

“I am the LORD your God,...

“You shall have no other gods before Me.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—...

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

“You shall not murder.

“You shall not commit adultery.

“You shall not steal.

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

“You shall not covet… anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”

Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Song of Response

Worship Through Prayer

  1. Lord God, search my heart. Expose the sins within me. Have I kept any idols in my heart? Bring to my knowledge and awareness if there is anything despicable and displeasing in my life. Forgive me for any idolatrous sins that I might have done. Cleanse me that I may be right again before You.

  2. My God, I have a heart that is often distracted and prone to wander away from You. People and things become more interesting to me than You. My time has been preoccupied by others that I have failed many times to come before Your presence fully. I have been loving You so little and busy running after other loves. Forgive me.

  3. O God, help me. I need You to give me a pure heart to love You faithfully. I can't do it on my own. I want to love you, Lord. I want to worship You for who You are and not just for all the things You've given me. I exist because of You. Apart from You, I am nothing. Here I am wholly. I worship You.
