Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Psalm 34:8-9 (NKJV)

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;

Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!

There is no want to those who fear Him.

Bless You, Almighty God, Maker and Possessor of all the heaven and earth. All good and perfect gifts come from Your loving hand. How blessed are we and all Your creation for You are good. May all creation shout and sing Your praise. Worthy are You to receive all honor, all glory, and all praises. Hallelujah! Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

Mark 12:41-44; 1 Corinthians 16:2a; Luke 6:38a; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8; Acts 20:35 (NKJV)

Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood."

On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper,...

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom...

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Song of Response

Worship Through Prayer

  1. How blessed I am to be Your child and to know Your Truth. My life is good because of You. You give me joy in every season because You are always with me. Your love fills my heart. You are all that my heart needs for You are the great I AM. Every gift is from You, my greatest Gift, and I give You thanks.

  2. Renew my mind and open my spiritual eyes that I may see how blessed I am in this life. Turn my eyes away from this world and all its trappings. The world will keep me longing for more worldly goods that will never truly satisfy. Help me find my true happiness in You. Protect my heart and mind in You. Satisfy me fully with Your love.

  3. Fill my heart with Your love that overflows to others around me. Let me share the blessings of Your love to those around me. May they see Your love in me and desire what I have that they too may experience true joy and happiness that only You can give. May more people praise Your Name with gladness for You are good to us.
