Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Proverbs 29:2 (NKJV)

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

Almighty God, sovereign Ruler of all. We praise Your holy Name. We ask for Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. We pray for Your mercy upon our nation. Give us government leaders to rule over us in righteousness and justice. We do not know what the future holds for us. Yet, we can rejoice knowing that no matter what, You rule above the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever You choose. We bow in submission to Your holy will. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Worship Through Songs

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

Psalm 1:1-6; 15:1-5 (NKJV)

Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,

But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,

But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle?

Who may dwell in Your holy hill?

He who walks uprightly,

And works righteousness,

And speaks the truth in his heart;

He who does not backbite with his tongue,

Nor does evil to his neighbor,

Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;

...He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;

...He who does these things shall never be moved.

Song of Response

Worship Through Prayer

  1. Heavenly Father, I pray for the coming election. Give me wisdom to choose men and women with integrity to lead the nation. Help me not to be deceived by empty promises of the candidates. Let those with true heart of service be elected into position.

  2. Lord, give us leaders who would care for the people. Many men and women in power have become corrupted and have enriched themselves at the expense of the people and good governance. Please give us more public servants who have good and godly characters to serve faithfully.

  3. Lord, have mercy on the nation. Bless us with competent and capable leaders to rule the Philippines. You have blessed the country with abundant resources. Yet, to this day, we remain a nation struggling to develop. Have mercy, O Lord, and bless the nation this time with good leaders. Remember this nation, O Lord. Have mercy, O God. In Jesus' name. Amen.
