Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

John 3:30-31 (NKJV)

He must increase, but I must decrease. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

Lord God almighty, be magnified above all. All glory, honor and praises belong to You alone. Be exalted in the highest. We humble ourselves and bow before Your holy presence. We lift our voices in one accord to worship and proclaim the excellence of Your Name. Glory be to You forever. Amen.

Scripture Reading

Read aloud (together if applicable).

John 14:16-18, 26; 16:7-14 (NKJV)

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

Song of Response

Worship Through Prayer

  1. Father, thank You for all that I am and all that I have in this life. Everything comes from Your loving and gracious hands. Apart from You, I am nothing. Apart from You, there's nothing I can do. I give You praise for all the blessings of this life.

  2. Lord, forgive me for being deceived to think that I am a self-made person. For even thinking that it is because of my own intelligence, hard work, capabilities and goodness that I have achieved everything in my life, please forgive me for taking the honor that is due You for myself.

  3. Lord, help me uphold You in my life always. Let me look away from myself and focus on You and Your glory. Let everything that I do be done for Your glory and honor. When people praise me, may I give thanks and praise You back for You are the reason for my praise.
